Aarrgggh… I could not read the JR train map as many of them are in kanji. I could not read the name of the shops, the roads, the technical specs, the name of building and practically everything here.

I have become illiterate!

I have made a point to learn kanji as often as possible. I realise that they have similar strokes, really really similar. Even some of the characters are similar and just combinations. Thus, I think kanji is not as hard as I thought. I need to understand what the strokes are, memorise the basic kanji and practice writing them again and again. Memorise, memorise and memorise.

Japanese is a difficult language for various reasons. One of them is the alphabets which are pictorial, plus it has many grammar, takusan desu ne and it is just very detailed. For this, use this word, for that use that one, for whatever use the rest!

Now, I am thinking to increase my japanese classes to 4 times a week. I think my friends will be shocked! :P Hahhaha. I don’t mind having 1 more extra class on saturday morning, but the timing may not be so good as I need rest on weekend and short trip is definitely a must

Yeah, I am buying an electronic dictionary online. Thanx to google translate, I could translate all the KANJI to english and able to fill the form and write my own address in Japanese. Gosh…

Anyway, I will have to wait for a couple of days for the product to arrive. I hope it is soon. The only drawback is, errr another money-draining purchase! But it is important for my learning curve. :)

So, the results of the volleyball gal division world cup 2007  (FIVB) is

1st: Italia

2nd: Brazil

3rd: USA

Thus, Italy, Brazil and USA are qualified for the Beijing olympic next year.

Nihon… errr not sure :(

Eh just did some checking, Nihon is 7th. Not too bad for Asian continent. :D

Just checked out the team, while the japan team is a few players of 180cm, the other teams are a number of 190cm tall! No wonder the team looked small -_-”

volleyball world cup 2007

November 16, 2007 · Leave a Comment

So, this is what I have been doing when I went back early this week- watching volleyball world cup at Fuji TV. :D

Well, I don’t play volleyball and perhaps not exactly a fans. I wonder why. Perhaps it is because I do not play the game, errr as in at all. During junior high, we used to have the games, but well I never really played

Anyway, back to the world cup. The channel is only showing the games of Nihon vs other countries. The games are competitive. To tell the truth, the moment I saw the opponents of Nihon, I will straight away said errr Nihon would lose. No offence. The opponents, which are from Cuba, Brazil, USA and many other countries do look stonger, i.e. have a bigger built. Tall and muscular! Really… I can see that they can well-covered the court because of their body size. I think almost all their players are above 180cm. As for the Nihon-jin, errr I can only see a couple of tall gals and the court looked empty. I do not say that taller and bigger would definitely win, but… but… having the same level of skills, bigger built would definitely an advantage.

How were the games? Sad to say, Nihon lost many games. I did not check the scores, but the games that I watched, all lost. Nevertheless, all were the games well-fought for. All the games were very competitive and the scores were close indeed. Kudos. :) I do hope Nihon can proceed to Beijing olympic 2008. This is actually the qualifying round.

It is the same trait I noticed here. Perseverence is something inherent in the people here. I guess Japan succeeds not merely by their skills and expertise, they just never quit- when others would have looked for an exit, japan stays.
